Welcome to the 38th edition of #FivePoints newsletter! I'll skip the big intro and keep it vacation-light.

**[Title photo](https://www.instagram.com/p/CR1uAxCMi8x/?utm%5Fsource=ig%5Fweb%5Fcopy%5Flink):** Izola, Slovenia. Sometimes the closest beach is the nicest. I've never enjoyed Slovenian seaside in the summer months, and now I'm falling in love with it.

### This week's #FivePoints:

- 🥇 [What's the secret of the success of Slovenian athletes](https://www.slovenia.info/en/stories/what-is-the-secret-of-the-success-of-slovenian-athletes?utm%5Fsource=pocket%5Fmylist)? My homeland is a small country of 2 million souls, yet you'll find Slovenians at the top of[ the world's sports lists](https://pg-slovenia.com/best-slovenian-athletes/?ref=peterkos.org) boasting from cycling (Roglic, Pogacar), Ice Hockey (Anze Kopitar of LA Kings), basketball (Luka Doncic, Goran Dragic), skiing (Tina Maze, Ilka Stuhec), cross-country skiing (Petra Majdic), ski-jumping (Peter Prevc), mountaineering (Tomaz Humar, Davo Karnicar), and others.
[Olympic medals galore](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slovenia%5Fat%5Fthe%5FOlympics?ref=peterkos.org). Including 3 in Tokyo (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) at the time of this writing.
- 🇨🇺 I've been to Cuba last year. Nice nature, but the country is completely *effed* up. When people ask me what I think, I say that if your child has any weird ultra-left ideas, you should pay them vacation in Cuba and let them see how the so-called *socialist heaven* looks like. No water, empty stores, lack of food, and now [the shit hit the fan](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-57799852?ref=peterkos.org). How will the [contra-revolution look like](https://www.miamiherald.com/opinion/editorials/article253016728.html?ref=peterkos.org)?
- 💵 [this Victoria man has gone two decades without money](https://www.capitaldaily.ca/news/penniless-two-decades-without-money?utm%5Fsource=pocket%5Fmylist). Quite an interesting story of someone deciding to step out of the money game. At least directly.
- 🍷 Where there's money, there's fraud. Read about [the man who sold millions in counterfeit wine to rich collectors](https://thehustle.co/the-man-who-sold-millions-in-counterfeit-wine-to-rich-collectors/?utm%5Fsource=Sunday&utm%5Fmedium=email%20-%2005/23&utm%5Fcampaign=introverts&utm%5Fcontent=https://thehustle.co/the-man-who-sold-millions-in-counterfeit-wine-to-rich-collectors/).
- 🛹 [This is so cool](https://twitter.com/ramenbutts/status/1418004322235920390?utm%5Fsource=pocket%5Fmylist).

See you next week.
Stay Hungry; Stay Foolish.
